- ROSEWOOD MORTISE GAUGE, This one is made from rosewood with brass trim. Although it is unmarked, the bulls-eye trim decoration was used by the Chapin Stephens firm. It is in overall very crisp condition with some scuffs along the top of the stem from tightening the fastening screw. - 18 Inch EXTENSION DIVIDERS, Unmarked by Mfr., but like an early version of the Starrett No. 85. It looks like the Copeland 1887 patent. Starrett's patent was in 1889.
The points can be adjusted for length, and a pencil substituted for one leg. There is a brazed area on the wing by the spring. I don't know how it could have been broken, and I see no reason why it won't hold during use, G++ ......... $60.00
