THE SARGENT TOOL CATALOG COLLECTION
Founded before the Civil War, Sargent and Company became one
of the largest hardware and hand tool manufacturers in America.
This reprint catalog collection contains all the Sargent tools
that were listed and illustrated in three of Sargent's majorcatalogs:
the 1894, 1910, and 1922. The Sargent line included a full range
of woodworking tools, with particular emphasis on wooden and metal
planes, hammers, axes and hatchets, saws, levels, and squares.
Sargent produced metal planes for over 80 years under at least
21 patents, and this collection contains most of these, including
the Auto-Set bench planes, the patented lateral adjustment wood-bottomed
planes, the adjustable block planes, and the unique "lady
bug" rabbets. The company history provided by Paul Weidenschilling
adds significantly to the usefulness of the book. 190 pages. This one is now completely out of print.
