A Fitchburg level, ca. 1890, in the 18 inch size. It is unmarked, as is usual, but with it's striking Gothic filigree design of diamonds, Exes, ovals, and loops; it is easy to identify. No cracks or breaks. A nice addition to any collection, G+ .......... $595.00 [Order Now]

Hollow cast with ogee ends and a cross-hatched design on the front and back. It seems to anticipate the style of Art Deco design that became popular a few years later. These were made for only a couple of years before the company was purchased by Chapin Stephens, and then marked with that company's name. After Stanley bought out Chapin Stephens, a few of these levels were marked with the Stanley name. This level is 30 inches long. The lacquer is worn, but it hasn't been buffed. This Davis Patent Bench Level has a 4 inch base with a groove in the bottom to also be attached to a square, and was one of the smallest that they made, G++ ............Sold $425.00
