This showy brass and mahogany? gauge was patented on Dec 31, 1867, by John Nester, of Portland, Oregon.
Its features include a clapboard marker, to mark the ends of siding to the proper length; a marking gauge; a level; and a 12 inch rule.
Quite a spectacular tool for the work it was designed to do. It has some tool-box dings, but is still fully functional. Has been lightly cleaned, G++ .......... $295.00
