Weston's Belt Plane Weston's Side-Handle Belt Plane

This one is unmarked, but the patent date was June 1, 1858.

Early industry was run by water- and steam-power. Factories had a series of shafts and pulleys connected to the power source, running along the ceiling. Wide leather belting was used to transfer the motion from the ceiling to the machines on the floor. These planes were used to cut a wide bevel joint on each side of the belt so they could be sewn together and lie flat.

This plane is in nice condition. The cutter looks like it may be a replacement, G+ .......... $185.00
