  • Hand-Forged Hammer An interesting early tool. I'm not sure of its purpose. There is a tack hammer head on one end and a two-inch wide blade on the other. It seems too light to be an adze, but it may have been used to split small work for pegs. Otherwise, it may be a veneer hammer, the blade being used to smooth-down veneer after gluing, G ..................... $65.00

  • Z. N. Seeley Bronze Saw Tool
    An early, raker gauge, patented in Mar. 17, 1908, in Centralia, Wash.,the heart of Pacific Northwest logging.
    This is a rare saw tool, and an interesting bit of history in the development of logging in the Pacific Northwest. As far as I know, this was the first tooth depth gauge, and the first use of a glass surface, which was later used by Morin. Includes a copy of the patent papers, G++ ........... $165.00

  • Boxed Russell Jennings Spur Dowel Bitts
    These are the earliest bitts (that's what they called them then) made by Russell Jennings Mfg Co, Deep River, Conn., U.S.A. This was the original location of the company, and they moved to Chester, Conn, in 1875, so, these are before that time, and for only a few years.

    The box has an early, decorative wallpaper cover with a label on the top and one end, with the size written in inkpen.

  • Sorrento Wood Carving Saw Leavett's patent saw, patented Dec. 13, 1870. The company name, address and patent date are stamped on the frame.
    There was a trend in the Victorian era to do complex pierced fretwork. Sorrento, which took it's name from a famous woodworking town in Italy, made tools for this trade. The saw has a 14 inch throat to do large work. It looks like it has a maple frame and mahogany handle, Fine ..................... Sold $225.00
