Sorrento Fret Saw

Leavett's patent saw, patented Dec. 13, 1870. The company name, address and patent date are stamped on the frame.
There was a trend in the Victorian era to do complex pierced fretwork. Sorrento, which took it's name from a famous woodworking town in Italy, made tools for this trade. The saw has a 14 inch throat to do large work. It looks like it has a maple frame and mahogany handle, Fine ..................... Sold $225.00
