Patented March 15,1887 by Edwin Walker. This one is unmarked, which is the case with the very few that exist, but is identical to the patent drawing and known advertisements.
Walker, from Erie, Pennsylvania, is known in the antique tool world mostly for his patented plow plane, which has a body that is a series of vertical plates which adjust to conform to the profile of the cutter.
Most of the nickel plating remains, but it is dull. A very rare gauge, G++ .......... Sold $795.00
