  2. STANLEY NO. 813-10 BRACE, 10 inch sweep. This is the heavy-duty version by Stanley. The highest quality in workmanship and materials. Bronze-bushed ball bearing head, box ratchet. Ball-bearing chuck with Universal jaws that hold all ordinary size taper shank bits, also small or medium round shank bits or drills. The back end of the chuck has a tapered, square hole to firmly seat the back tip of a tapered bit so it can't slip. 90% of the nickel plating remains.   6. GOODELL PRATT CO., NO 6010 BRACE, 10 INCH SWEEP, Pat'd Dec 27, 1892 on the chuck. This brace has a steel-clad rosewood head that runs on roller bearings, which are contained in a dust-proof compartment. The rosewood handle runs in adjustable collars. The sweeps are steel with smooth and even bends. The ratchet is strong and easily operated by turning the large knurled ring. The chuck socket and shell are malleable iron, jaws are forged steel.   1. A. A. WOOD & SONS, adjustable hollow auger. These are considered to be the Cadillac of hollow augers. Fully adjustable, cuts from 1/4 to 1 1/4 inch diameters. This one is in super condition, 95% of the shiny black enamel remains. Very crisp. A minor sharpening of the cutter will have this one ready to go. Spoke Pointers

Spoke pointers are used to make a conical end on your stock to precede the hollow auger. Provides a firm start that is centered on the work. Dowel pointers are for smaller work, and can be used to chamfer (bevel) the tips of pegs for gluing joints.

  1. STANLEY NO. 22 DOWEL SHARPENER. Looks like it will point up to 3/4 inch. Used to chamfer the edges of dowels for gluing-up joints in table tops or cabinet doors. This brand has a steeper angle of cut, which I like - it cuts better, like a low-angle plane. 90% enamel remains. These came with or without a depth stop, this one is missing.   1. STANLEY SET NO. 32 1/2 QUARTERS, No. 100 SPUR AUGER BITS. In very crisp condition. Marked on the shank Russell Jennings, Made in USA, No. 100 and the size.
    The genuine Russell Jennings pattern, Extension Lip Auger Bits are made of special analysis steel, forged carefully. The bits in this set have the standard double thread point, and are unsurpassed for accurate work in seasoned woods not extremely gummy or hard.
    The set has 13 bits, size 4-5-6-7-8-9-10-11-12-13-14-15-16, in 1/16th inch increments. All the sixteenths add up to 32 1/2 quarter-inches, which is where the set number comes from. The bits have had very light use, and are shiny-nice with some very minor occasional stain. The spurs and lead-screws are great. Some may need a little touch-up with sharpening. A strong, serviceable tool built on a sturdy cast frame. Three-jawed chuck with protected spring holds 0 to 3/16 round shank bits. Spindle equipped with ball thrust bearings. The wide rim on the large gear can be grasped between the thumb and fingers when delicate work is being done. 90% red and black enamel remains. The handle and knob are rosewood.   6. GOODELL PRATT NO. 49 HAND DRILL, Pat. Aug 13, 1895 on chuck. A strong, light 10 inch frame of malleable iron. The large and small gears are both cut, and run smoothly without hitching. The steel chuck is a model 1, with knurled nut, well finished and with a three hardened steel jaws which will hold bits from 5/32 inch down to No. 80. 99% of the black enamel remains.
