Hollow Augers

[CLICK TO ORDER]

Hollow augers are used to cut round tenons for making chairs or wagon spokes. They are preceded with a spoke pointer to make a conical end that centers the hollow auger on the work.

A. A. Wood Hollow Auger Note: If you are having trouble with using the A. A. Wood Hollow Auger, the new original cutters have the point ground off, so then the cutter can get close to, and parallel to, the throat, and the point doesn't stick out. You should get a cleaner cut by grinding off that point. Most of the cutters have been ground to a lesser bevel by the user, so, I assume it works, but not the best.
