  4. STANLEY NO. 53, ADJUSTABLE SPOKE SHAVE, Adjustable throat. An early one with Bailey's Patent, July 13, 1858 cast in the body, and the J trademark on the cutter. Used for work on flat or convex surfaces. Flat bottom. Like the No. 54, but, raised handles for clearance. 50% japanning, G+ ........ $55.00

  5. STANLEY NO. 55, HOLLOW FACE SPOKE SHAVE, Early Stanley Rule & Level J trademark on the cutter dates it to around 1900. For use on all types of round work, such as chair legs or handles ... Curved handles. The japanning is somewhat worn, G+ ........ $65.00

  10. STANLEY NO. 67, UNIVERSAL SPOKE SHAVE, First Sweetheart logo on the cutter which has a few light rust spots. Complete with the fence and both a flat and round soles. Used for work on flat or convex surfaces, also rabbeting work. The handles can be removed and screwed in the top to facilitate work in close areas. Almost all of the nickel plating remains, but there is a bit of dirt. Nice rosewood handles, Fine ........ $195.00

The handles can be removed and screwed in the top to facilitate work in close areas, as for rabbeting. 90% nickel plating. The rosewood handles are nice, but the ferrules are split, which is common, G++ ........ $75.00

  13. STANLEY NO. 151, ADJUSTABLE SPOKE SHAVE, Notched rectangle logo on the cutter. This is the all-purpose workhorse of the Stanley line. Used for flat or convex work. There are two nuts that engage with the cutter to provide an easy way for proper adjustment. 97% japanning, Fine ............... $45.00

  1. MILLERS FALLS NO. 1 CIRCULAR SHAVE. Reverse the cutter for flat or curved work. Rosewood handles on this shave with a circular shape permitting the tool to work in small circles. The knife is so pitched that it cuts instead of scraping the grain. Either handle is removable for working in cramped quarters. Has the Feb 19, 1884 patent date. Length 10 inches. 85% nickel plating.   5. CRESCENT SPOKE SHAVE, Flat bottom, raised looped handles. Looks the same as the Birmingham spokeshave. 75% japanning, G+ .............. $40.00

  1. STANLEY NO. 66 HAND BEADER, Feb. 9. (18)86 patent date is cast in the body, and S casting marks on the main pieces. 90% of the nickel plating is still there. There is apparently none on the blade holder or the two fences - it looks like there never was any. With eight double-ended cutters. Some of them may be professional reproductions, Fine .............. $185.00

  2. WINDSOR BEADER, Second type with fruitwood body. Stamped with the March 10, 1885 and June 2, 1885 patent dates. Nice patina on the uncleaned brass. It has both of the original cutters which have had little use. Some minor scuffing on the wood bottom, which won't affect use, G+++ ......... Sold $260.00
